December-Peace
This writing on Peace concludes a yearlong offering by Sanctuary members focusing on one particular word a month.
For this month’s mediation/reflection I will use all the words of the past eleven months as a foundation for a prayer entitled A Life of Peace. Perhaps one thought within it will touch your soul and allow you to look into the mirror of your eyes and see yourself as the Creator sees you, with gentle and kindly eyes.
A LIFE OF PEACE
Father/Mother/Creator God,
At the conclusion of this year my heart is open to all the gifts of living that have been blessings in my life.
With grace I have the ability to discern the path I should walk and define with clarity, goals that will make the best use of my gifts and talents.
Within the beauty of your creation I have witnessed the flow of the river and have learned that it too becomes arid and dry and that life emerges as soon as the rain comes to replenish and nurture and once again create a flowing river. I have learned that the rain (of my tears) and the dry arid season (of sorrow and grief) are necessary for my own growth.
I surrender my fear, so that I may walk with purposefulness, joy and freedom. I have learned to breathe and release the constriction of my mind and heart where I can once again trust the process within this mystery of life.
As the psalmist has prayed in 139, “wherever I go, there you are”. I cannot hide from your love it is integrated into the very fabric of my being and within this vibration, I am made whole.
As a child I learned to review all the events of a day as a prayer of gratitude before I lay down to sleep. This practice has served me well as I have come to know the difference between immature love and human love transformed by divine love.
I have miles to go before I sleep (away from this earthly dwelling), but within the sanctuary of your abiding and unfailing love that shines through every facet of creation, I can walk these miles in a life of peace.
Offered through grace by Dee Curci December 2010

Dee: It is interesting that the Buddha said “Wherever I go, there I am.” So don’t you think this speaks too the possibility that of the creator and the created are One! Thanks for the input this month. LilyJean
