When asked for one word to describe my hopes and dreams for 2010 the word that immediately came to my mind was “define”. I have been struggling with the question “who am I” for the past several years but that question seems to be constantly on my mind over the past several months. It started back in 2004 when I was trying to decide if I was ready to have kids. I had had a successful career and had put off having kids so I could enjoy my career but I was starting to feel it was time to either have kids or not have them at all. So I decided I needed some time and support to figure this out and needed it from non-interested parties so I signed up for a women’s retreat in Colorado.

The retreat gave me the time and skills I needed to work through my decision about children and later in 2004 got pregnant with my first child. With the birth of my first child I decided to slow down my career so I could focus on being a mom. My company was very supportive and allowed me to work a flexible work schedule but my fulfillment in my job started to fall away. I had become a senior executive in a mid-size company and started asking “where do I go next?” and I didn’t know the answer. This was very scary and unlike me since beginning in my teens I had wanted to be a senior executive and had followed the path to accomplish that (schooling, career moves, etc.). So I said now what? I had accomplished my long held goal and I didn’t have another one so what do I do next? Between taking care of a newborn and working I didn’t have a lot of time to think about these questions so I continued doing what I had been doing. Then I became pregnant with my second child. About six months after my second child was born my husband was offered his “dream” job in another state so he took it and I left my job to get my family moved.

Unfortunately the housing market didn’t cooperate and we soon realized we might not be moving after all. About that time, I had finished doing all those “to dos” that pile up when you are working and realized I couldn’t avoid the question of “where do I go next” any longer. I did know that I needed to do something that would continue to challenge me professionally but give me time to support my family’s emotional needs. I had been using Young Living essential oils for awhile by then and I was set up as a distributor so I decided I would try selling essential oils for a business. I started off by doing presentations for close friends and really enjoyed giving the presentations but quickly learned what network marketing means and realized I wasn’t a network marketer. This is when my struggle to “define” my business began. In late 2009 in an effort to learn more about essential oils I took a Clinical Aromatherapy class. This class is the first of a series of classes to become a Certified Aromatherapist and I am planning to continue these series this year.

My focus this year is to define the path of my business- focusing on increasing my network under me or focusing on working with clients to improve their health through the use of essential oils. I will keep you updated throughout the year on how my business definition is coming and please share your stories of defining who you are.

MOONSTONE PENDANTS from Angel Healing Crystals

Moonstone is protective of women and nature, and is the sacred stone of the moon goddess. Despite that many consider this stone to be a strictly female crystal, it in fact simply helps us to define our more feminine side, even in men. Nurturing, caring and unselfish humanitarian services are not simply female attributes. Moonstone can unblock and help us qualify those feelings, in both men and women, who are afraid to acknowledge, or experience consciously, how they feel.

This is a stone for hoping and wishing. It allows one to absorb that which is needed from the universal energies without furthering that which is wanted.  It helps one to recognize the ups and downs of life and to gracefully acknowledge the changing cycles. It can assist one in defining, understanding and sustaining the destiny one has chosen.

The energy of moonstone is balancing, introspective, reflective and lunar. Its vibration relates to new beginnings and flashes of insight. It stimulates intuitive recognition and helps one apply it in a practical sense. It also enhances perception and discernment as it cleanses negativity from the chakras.

Moonstone stimulates confidence and composure and assists one in the total fulfillment of one’s destiny.

20% Discount off any Moonstone pendant during the month of Define February.
