What are my hopes and dreams for 2010?
This seems like an easy question, but for some reason it is often a tough one for me to answer. I could go through some specific things I’d like to see develop, but I find that I feel more at peace with a more general hope for 2010. Have you ever met someone who truly loves their life? They wake up every morning so happy to be who they are, living the life they are living? I met someone like that recently and frankly I was jealous. What a wonderful thing to really love your life and not let all the worries and challenges prevent you from being happy! So, my dream for this year is to love my life, to love my relationships, to love my work, and to love myself one day at a time.
What one word can I focus on to help me achieve them?
I actually had a really hard time with this part because I realized that the word I know is right for me also feels scary. My word is “surrender.” I know that the number one thing that I need to do to support myself in realizing my hope of loving my life is to surrender. I need to surrender my fears. I need to surrender the need to be in control. I need to surrender my worries for myself and my loved ones. So this year, as a challenge or fear comes up, I’m going to remind myself of my focus…surrender. I’m going to envision beautiful angels coming to lift the worry from me. I’m going to see Archangel Michael standing nearby to keep myself and my loved ones safe. I’m going to remember that God is always there and always on my side. I’m going to let go, and let God guide me, knowing that in doing so, everything will work out just right.
Is this going to be easy? Well, I have to tell you that after coming up with this word I fell back asleep and had a nightmare about being completely unprepared, late for work, and nearly paralyzed. A little subconscious angst about letting God lead perhaps? Maybe worried he’ll overlook an important detail (like making sure I have shoes on before driving away)? So, I’ll check back in as the year progresses and let you know how things are going. Feel free to share your own success stories with surrender. I can use all the encouragement I can get!

Jin Shin Jyutsu Exercise
Jin Shin Jyutsu is an ancient Japanese practice that balances your body’s energy by using the fingers and hands to eliminate stress, create emotional equilibrium, relieve pain, and alleviate acute or chronic conditions.
SURRENDER – In Jin Shin Jyutsu we use, Safety Energy Lock 12 (similar to acupuncture points) for Surrender or Thy Will Be Done. This safety energy lock #12 is located on the back of the neck, midway between the skull and the shoulders, one point on each side of the vertebrae. Apply gentle pressure to the points indicated on the diagram for a few moments. Provided by Donna Tkaychk, Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner (and new Sanctuary member!)
