May-”Grace”
“Grace” from Nature’s Touch Wellness Center
“If a man be gracious and courteous to strangers, it shows he’s a citizen of the world, and that his heart is no island cut off from other lands, but a continent that joins to them.”
I love the month of May! The weather is great, my lilac bush is in bloom and all my garden beds are full of tulips and daffodil. Mother Nature has graced us with the splendors of spring! It’s a little easier to think about your hopes and dreams when the sun is shining. This year, my associates and I are focusing our attention on filling our practice with unlimited clients searching for health and wellness of body, mind and soul. We want to make our healing space a warm and inviting getaway, a place were life slows down and worries disappear. Where we can all just be, right now, right here. Our clients come in for their sessions knowing that they have our undivided attention for the next 60 minutes or so. We will strive to go out of our way to make each and every person feel special and cared for.
“Grace” is the word we chose to help keep us focused on making all our goals reality. We will not only focus on the word, but will try to live our lives with Grace. Grace, the simple little word with a huge meaning. This word has been coming up in conversations since last year, so I looked up the meaning. While reading them, a sense of peace filled me. From religious to mythology, the meaning of the word Grace touched a cord within us all. This very simple word, with the very large meaning, has become our moto for the year 2010 and beyond. We have placed it on the wall in our waiting area to remind us all of its power and strength.
It is with Grace that we will strive to live our lives, we will treat each person we are privileged to work on with Grace, and also each individual that we have the honor to meet. Gracefulness is defined as the outward expression of the inward harmony of the soul. If our inward selves, our souls, are happy and fulfilled, just think how pleasant our outward selves would be! People would love to be around us. The happiness we would feel from within would shine through and touch all of those that we encounter each day. It would be like paying it forward, but with Grace, the feel good kind of spirit that can grace us all from within. Sound pretty powerful? I agree! And pretty simple, actually. Here are just a few of the definitions that really grabbed my attention when I looked the word up: A characteristic or quality pleasing for its charm or refinement; a disposition to be generous or helpful; goodwill; mercy; clemency; a favor rendered by one who need not do so; a reprieve; Divine love and protection bestowed freely on people; A short prayer of blessing or thanksgiving said before or after a meal; a sense of what is right; kind or polite. The list goes on and on! One that I found quite amusing was the Three Graces, Aglaia, Euphrosyne, and Thalia. In Greek mythology they were sister goddesses who dispensed joy, charm and beauty. The Graces planned and presided over banquets, dances, and all other social events, and brought joy and goodwill to both gods and mortals. I know three massage therapists that fit that bill!
What ways will we use Grace in our lives to make our goals reality? We’ll start by treating each person that walks into our lives, personal and/or business, with respect and acceptance for who they are at that very moment. To give everyone that we encounter undivided attention and respect. No judgement, only acceptance. We are often told that there is a sense of peacefulness about us, good energy in our healing space. We hope to feel that peace more often than not by choosing to invite grace into our lives.
So now I challenge you. What one word would you choose and how would it help you to accomplish your goals in life? If you want to share, we’d love to hear from you!

Tools to empower “GRACE”
Rose Essential Oil: When I think of Grace I think of someone who has effortless charm and beauty. For this month’s essential oil to support that image I recommend Rose. This oil comes from the petals of a rose bush which are quite beautiful and delicate. Rose has a lovely scent and is a powerful oil especially to address the emotions and support the female reproductive system. Jin Shin Jyutsu Exercise
Jin Shin Jyutsu is an ancient Japanese practice that balances your body’s energy by using the fingers and hands to eliminate stress, create emotional equilibrium, relieve pain, and alleviate acute or chronic conditions.
“GRACE” with Jin Shin Jyutsu by Donna Tkachyk
Grace is an unconditional gift given by God. It is always available as is the energy in our bodies. We use Jin Shin Jyutsu to harmonize, access, and to heighten our awareness to the simple fact that all we need is available for our physical, mental and spiritual well being.
Jin Shin Jyutsu is a tool to access and regenerate our body’s energy and healing powers.
By placing our hands on specific points on the body (26 Safety Energy Locks) energy can be made to flow through the body.
We have chosen SEL 13 which represents love of yourself and others. You can experience this by placing crossed hands on the front of the rib cage about the third rib down. Relax and breathe for 3 to 5 minutes. This position helps us see the good in people, reduces tension in the neck and shoulders, helps with creativity. Remember we have all that we need.
