1.  When did your business or organization get started? In 1998 we opened our grounds to the public, in 2001The Blessed Foundation was formed as a 501(c) (3) public charity.

What circumstances led to its creation? John and I had opened the grounds to the public after an interview about the Chartres Labyrinth we constructed here was published in the Akron Beacon Journal.

2.  What inspires you to help others?  The Beatitudes and the Corporal Works of Mercy

3.  What is your greatest success story with a client? It is the many stories of the people who come to the retreat center.  Every person, unique and important to the whole of humanity, has blessed this space with their presence.

4.  What would people be surprised to know about you? That John and I constructed the Chartres Labyrinth as a way to honor our parents and to heal the grief we were experiencing at the death my Mother, the descent of my Father into Alzheimer’s and John’s Father who was dying with colon cancer.  Their deaths all occurred within a year and a half.  It was not in our consciousness at the time of the interview with Jim Carney of the Akron Beacon Journal, who discovered our labyrinth at the time the Beacon was doing articles on labyrinths, to have a retreat center.  It was his question at the end of the interview that began the process.  “If this story about the labyrinth is published, people will want to come.”  John looked at me, then back to Jim and responded, “Let them come”.  The Blessed Foundation had its beginning.
